NAV PRERNA

Our Activities: Nav Prerna rewari, is a special school established for the overall development of mentally as well as physically challenged children to help them lead a happy life.

"Nav prerna" society for disabled got registered under Society Registration act 21 of 1860 and amended by Punjab Amendment Act 1975. Main objective of Nav Prerna Society is to serve the society by providing the teaching and training services for the rehabilitation of disabled and co-ordinate them with main stream.
The institute undertakes assessment and evaluation covering case history taking, physical and medical examination, intellectual and development assessment , special education assessment , therapeutic needs assessment, vocational assessment. A program plan mode for home based training and demonstrations are given to parents for carrying out the skill training or therapy program for home management.

Physiotherapy or speech & language Development Therapy
our institute providing physiotherapy service to persons with mental retardation, association with mental problem such as cerebal palsy abnormal motor patterns, movement disorders, gait training and enhancement of overall development, motor training and adaptation for vocational purposes speech and language intervention package is development according to the individual needs of the child, parents are guided to carry out intervention at home under the advice of professionals.

Special Education
children with mental retardation are assessed on current level of functioning in various skill areas such as self help skills, gross and fine motor skills, functional reading and writing skills, parents are involved in all stages of assessment, planning of an individualized educational program and implementation of the I.E.P. These children get one to one attention under informed trained teacher in addition to their classroom experiences. Environmental modifications are made to meet their specific needs.

Parents Teachers Meeting
We have regular parent teacher meeting. Parents come and share their child related problems with the teacher and consult them. we arranged many workshops for parents like, how to train their children for brushing, toileting and domestic skills.

Medical Checkups
Mentally challenged children are more prone to common ailments than that of normal counter part. The services of child specialist physician on regular basis has been provided to them. These facilities are provided to all of them. These facilities have been organised to detect and treat dental ailments.

Local Trips
Local trips are also organized for training purpose and entertainment to children. children are visited various places in the city like Bus stand, Railway Station, Park, Restaurant and Cinema hall.

Awareness camp for Prevention of occurrence of Disabilities of India.
The project aims at creation of awareness in the society on the provisions of :-

1) Persons with disabilities (equal Opportunities, protection of rights and full participation) Act 1995.
2) The national trust for welfare of persons with Autism, cerebral palsy, mental retardation and multiple disabilities act 1999.

Behaviour Modification Services
Persons with mental retardation having disobedience, head banging, self injuring, excessive crying and other wide verify of problematic behaviors are taken up in the services. After making detailed assessment for finding out the factors leading to such behaviors program is developed and parents are given instructions on suitable intervention in the even of occurrence of the target behavior. follow up takes place at regular intervals to ensure the progress.

Sports Activity.
A camp was organized is by Navprana rewari every year in school premises where coaches and volunteers give training to disabled. School also organize open games, where students of other schools also participates. These games are organised at Rao Tula Ram Stadium Rewari.

OPD
Every month for the checkup and giving particular therapy to children, A team of special educators, physio therapists psychologists and speech therapist came to school on the last Saturday o f month.

FMC( Free Medical Consultancy Card)
Free medical consultancy cards was made by navprerna, Rewari for disabled children. 19 Doctors of the city has given free consultancy to disabled children of Rewari city.

Our Celebrations
Our kids celebrate every festival in the school premises like Lohri, Raksha Bandhan, X-mas day, Diwali, Dusshera, Eid, Independence day, Republic day etc. with full spirit. We celebrate Annual Function of the school every year. Students perform here with different colorful dresses.
